| Our main program strikes the delicate balance between a challenging academic curriculum and the ultimate Israel experience. The curriculum uses both a content-based and skills based approach. We are a college promoting, parent friendly environment catering to the needs of the individual. The program is academically tracked with the ability to move and change levels based on personal progress. | One Year Sephardic Program | | In keeping with the goal of educating each student in a way most suitable for him, the Yeshiva has instituted a special program for Sephardim. Although much of the day is spent learning in the Beit Midrash and in shiurim alongside their Ashkenazi brethren, the Yeshiva appreciates the importance of keeping the traditions forged for us by our ancestors. The Sephardi program is headed by HaRav Yaakov Darmoni. It begins with a separate daily Shacharit minyan, adhering strictly to Nusach Edot HaMizrach and making use of a Sephardi Sefer Torah procured by the Yeshiva for that purpose. The program also includes special shiurim focusing on halacha and minhagim based on the writings of Sephardi poskim, visits to Sephardi gedolim such as HaRav HaGaon Ovadiah Yoseph Shlit"a, and get-togethers in the homes of some of the program’s Rebbeim. For the alumni overseas, there are often Shabbatonim which include a visit from one of the Rabbanim of the program. | | Netiv Aryeh's Honors Program offers a unique, exciting and challenging program combining intensive beiyun and comprehensive bekius learning. Students will feel a sense of accomplishment after having covered many facets of Torah shebichtav and Torah shebe-al peh. Morning seder will offer a challenging approach to in-depth analysis of Gemara with special emphasis on developing the necessary skills for learning Rishonim. The morning shiur will be delivered by HaRav Shaul Wiesner - an alumnus and current Rosh Kollel of the Netiv Aryeh alumni kollel and will focus on intense analysis of the sugyot. HaRav Chaim Eisenstein, maggid shiur for Shana Bet will direct our unique afternoon seder in which students will be expected during the course of the year to cover the entire Tanach, 3 sedorim of Mishna, and half of the Mishna Brura. Night seder will be under the direction of the Yeshiva's outstanding talmidei chachamim including HaRav Chizkiyahu Nebenzahl, chief rabbi of Jerusalem's Old City and HaRav Michoel Fodor, distinguished author of "Miyemini Michoel". In addition, HaGaon HaRav Avigdor Nebenzahl will be accessible to the students. Night Seder will be devoted to completing the Massechet which the Yeshiva is learning. The Honors Program at Netiv Aryeh is a revolutionary approach to learning both in terms of its depth and breadth. Consistent with our commitment to keep a low student to Rebbe ratio, the Honors Program will be limited to 14 students. The Honors Program is designed for highly motivated students to fulfill their potential and maximize their year in Israel! | Alumni-Collegiate Program | | For more information please call 718-601-5826 or click here to send an email. | | Netiv Aryeh offers an optional second year Shana Bet program. Approximately 2/3 of the students avail themselves of this opportunity to further their growth and to put into practice many of the ideals and skills they acquired in Shana Aleph. Many of the students feel they need that extra year of ruchniyus to be properly prepared for life in the outside world. Shana Bet students are viewed as role models and are expected to spend part of the night seder learning with a Shana Aleph student. The program features special events for only Shana Bet such as Shabbatonim and Melave Malkes. | | Given the Yeshiva's close connection with the Israel Defense Forces, Israeli students and foreign students who arrive with intent of serving in the IDF (with parental approval) may combine army service with learning in Yeshiva. Students spend one year learning full-time in Yeshiva before entering the IDF. See YNA Announces Newly Accredited Hesder Status | | The Hebrew-speaking Rennert Kollel under the overall guidance of HaGaon HaRav Yaakov Katz is run by HaRav Eliyahu Tzaddok. HaRav Katz gives shiurim both in the material being studied as well as in the amud yomi cycle of Mishna Brura. In addition to the positive influence generated simply by the presence of these avreichim in the Beit Midrash, they are required to spend part of their day learning with and guiding first-year students. Many of the avreichim invite their chavrutas for Shabbat where they can get a firsthand look at a Torah-home in Eretz Yisrael. | | An English-speaking Kollel comprised primarily of recently-married alumni who have either just immigrated to Israel or have elected to spend a period of time in the Yeshiva before returning to their country of origin. The shiurim are in English and they generally learn the Massechet studied by the Yeshiva. | | Our British Programme has been specifically designed to provide a pastoral facility for our students from the UK. The programme includes special Shabbatonim and shiurim exclusively for British students.
The programme is under the Directorship of Rabbi Mark Mays, who has studied for semicha and is continuing his learning in the Yeshiva, since returning to Israel in the year 5763 after six years as a Youth Director in London.
